Teledyne Reson training in Denmark

BlueZone travels to Denmark to undertake training at Teledyne Reson

In July 2022, BlueZone Group’s Electrical Engineer, Curtis Schur and Senior Technician, Grant Maddison travelled to Denmark to undertake training for the latest Teledyne Reson acoustic technology. Exercises for the acoustic technology included the maintenance and upgrades of the software systems. During the visit, Curtis and Grant participated in training for the latest Reson SeaBat® T51 Multi-Beam Echo Sounder (MBES), by completing the theory and practice of the sonar operations and concepts.

The Reson SeaBat® T51-R is the latest addition to the SeaBat® T-series product range with four times the resolution and is built on the shoulders of the renowned SeaBat® T50. BlueZone conducted a demonstration in Sydney Harbour for Teledyne Marine, showing the obstacle avoidance, target detection and bathymetric capabilities of the SeaBat® T51. The SeaBat® T51 successfully surveyed, detected and processed data on pre-existing shipwrecks and multiple mine-like targets that were deployed within the harbour.

Teledyne Reson offers solutions in a variety of application areas including offshore, hydrography, civil engineering and dredging as well as defence & security. In addition to the SeaBat® T51, BlueZone provides continuous support for the delivery of the Teledyne Reson SeaBat® T50 MBES, by supplying four single-head T50 systems to the Royal Australian Navy Hydrographic Survey Ships, HMAS LEEUWIN, and MELVILLE.

Teledyne Marine is a group of leading-edge undersea technology companies that include Teledyne Reson, Teledyne BlueView and Teledyne Odom Hydrographic.
