Important Information Regarding Proper Charging & Maintenance of UTS-9500 Topside Internal Battery

Teledyne Benthos has recently seen a few situations where customers have not been properly maintaining the charge on UTS-9500 series deck boxes per the advice in the user manual.

The deck box should be plugged into AC mains power periodically to recharge the internal battery, otherwise there is a risk of damaging the battery such that it does not recover and no longer operates properly. A good rule to follow is to recharge the system every three or four months.

If the battery does fail, then the deck box will need to be returned to Benthos for battery replacement; it cannot be replaced by anyone other than an authorised Benthos service technician because doing so will void the CE conformance.
