Greater Hunter Makers Festival

BlueZone/UVS is excited to be a participant in the inaugural Greater Hunter Makers Festival to be staged in Newcastle 11 and 12 November 2016. The vision of the Makers Festival is to showcase the Greater Hunter Region as a global centre of engineering and manufacturing excellence offering world-class people, customised products and services.
BlueZone CTO, Darren Burrowes, said that the Makers Festival was an important addition to the Newcastle and Hunter innovation ecosystem. “From start-ups through to established manufacturers I think that everyone can benefit from showcasing and networking around the exciting future of Industry 4.0 in our region”, said Darren “Our company has been at the leading edge of support for underwater robotics systems and technologies for Navy and other customers for more than fifteen years and we are very pleased to be able to share what we do with the wider community”.
There are many interesting jobs to be created due to the current trend of automation and data exchange in manufacturing technologies. The Greater Hunter Makers Festival is an opportunity to focus on creating these jobs in our region.
