Acting Australian Prime Minister, Richard Marles Visits BlueZone Group
BlueZone Hosted the Acting Prime Minister of Australia, Federal Member for Paterson & Federal Member for Hunter at the Thronton, NSW Facility.
BlueZone was honoured to host Mr Richard Marles, the Acting Prime Minister of Australia and Minister for Defence in addition to the Federal Member for Paterson, Meryl Swanson and the Federal Member for Hunter, Dan Repacholi at our Thornton, NSW site. It was great to be able to show our guests the exciting technology we work with in remote and autonomous systems for maritime applications and talk about where we have come from and our skills taking us into the future.
The BlueZone team were able to demonstrate how the Double Eagle mine disposal system operates and is used for MCM operations. On display were also the Blueprint Diving Navigation Systems including the Artemis Pro Navigation System and the Oculus Sonar. BlueZone Director, Darren Burrows presented the Offboard DCL project about using the Wave Glider USV in conjunction with the Krait Array™ for Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) capabilities. A great interest was shown regarding how the innovation of this technology is leading the way for ASW sensors and unmanned platforms.
BlueZone sends a special thank you to the Defence Business Adviser at the Office of Defence Industry Support (ODIS), Brook Grimmond, for coordinating the visit. BlueZone also extends their appreciation to all the staff who attended with Richard Marles, Meryl Swanson and Dan Repachoil, along with the amazing team at BlueZone for ensuring that the experience was unforgettable.
