RiverRay now shipping with Vertical Beam
UVS is pleased to announce that Teledyne RDI has added a vertical beam to the RiverRay ADCP.
This new feature offers the following key benefits:
• Allows for depth measurement directly under the ADCP providing:
• More precise bathymetric data
• Better definition of precise cross‐sectional shape
• Provides a redundant depth measurement for:
• Enhanced ADCP usability in applications with challenging bottom track conditions
• Better characterization of channels with irregularly sloped bottoms or similar features
• Increased beam width offering:
• Reduced sensitivity to instrument pitch and roll
• Reduced sensitivity to bottom slope
• Integration into WinRiver II and SxS Pro Software allowing for:
• Composite option for River Depth – automatic selection between Vertical Beam, Depth Sounder, and Bottom Track depths
• All depth sources displayed in the Intensity Contour plot in WinRiver II for comparison and detection of anomalies
• All depth sources available for output via Generic ASCII
Effective immediately, all new RiverRay orders will be shipped with the new vertical beam installed.
There will be no additional charge for these systems for the remainder of 2013. To enhance
efficiencies and product support, although we will continue to service them, standard 4‐beam
phased array transducer will be discontinued in favour of the 5 beam solution.
