BlueZone Perth Is on the Move — Literally

BlueZone is expanding its footprint in Western Australia with a new, bespoke Perth facility designed to boost local capability, streamline support, and fuel future growth.

As we turn over into the New Year, we are excited to share some updates on the BlueZone activities that have been going on in the background over the last few months. Our Perth facility is in the midst of a major transition- we’re moving! To better support our customers, the BlueZone team identified the need for a larger, fit for purpose facility that can meet the evolving requirements of our growing customer base in the West.

We’ve secured a new home just across the road, a solid space with plenty of potential. Renovations are officially underway, and let’s just say we’re right in the heart of the chaos. The new workshop is specially designed to support depot-level servicing of military diving equipment. Specialised work bays, an electronics lab, and a new test tank are scheduled for construction over the coming months to expand our capabilities and deliver a higher standard of local technical support for our customers.

With a growing fleet of Diver Propulsion Vehicles (DPVs), remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), and Handheld Sonar Navigation (HHS) systems now based in the West, establishing a local service hub was the natural next step. This new bespoke facility will deliver tailored support and significantly faster turnaround times, helping our customers keep their operations moving with minimal downtime.

A larger facility gives BlueZone the ability to streamline logistics for our West Coast customers — reducing freight time, minimising handling, and providing space to hold critical spares where required. Mirroring, and complementing, BlueZone’s capability on the East Coast, the customised workshop will replicate our proven service model — from specialised technical support to streamlined logistics— ensuring consistent, high-quality outcomes nationwide.

As the new facility takes shape, BlueZone is also looking ahead to the growth of our Perth team. We’re positioning ourselves to seize future opportunities and, importantly, to create them — opening the door for new technical roles and expanding the local talent pool. This investment sets the foundation for a stronger presence in Western Australia. Mitchell Hinchcliffe, BlueZone’s Program Manager overseeing the Perth move notes, “Our new facility provides many opportunities for growth— not only for our defence customers but across other sectors as well — while also enabling us to design bespoke, depot-level service capabilities tailored to the needs of our existing customer fleets”.

Through investment in the growth of its footprint in Western Australia, BlueZone Group marks a significant step forward in strengthening its’ presence in this market and heralds the beginning of a new chapter for the company. In its’ 25th year in operation, no less. We look forward to enhancing our existing customer relationships in Western Australia and developing new opportunities as our new facility provides a launchpad to success for BlueZone Group and everyone we work with driving innovation, capability, and collaboration across the region.
