BlueZone Group Hosts Ai Group Innovation Cluster Meeting

Representatives from Hunter manufacturing companies gathered at BlueZone Newcastle for an Australian Industry Group (Ai Group) Innovation Cluster meeting. The informal gathering was a chance for members to identify new opportunities, learn from each other and mentor other Hunter-based manufacturers who are in need of a change of direction of focus.

The meeting was chaired by Larry Platt, Executive Chairman of the Advitech Group and organized by Adrian Price, Regional Manager – Hunter, Central Coast and Northern NSW for the Ai Group. BlueZone Chief Technology Officer, Darren Burrowes, presented “An Innovation Journey in the Underwater World” and discussed the lessons learned and plans for the future of BlueZone. He noted that innovation was a process and that SMEs like BlueZone could be a great source of innovation when their owners were able to rapidly

commit to opportunities and could tolerate the risk of product development.
