Easily relocate subsea assets and other divers during search and recovery mission
The Diver/Asset Recovery System (DARS) allows Public Safety Divers (PSD) to easily relocate subsea assets and other divers during search and recovery missions in the poorest conditions. The DARS system is very cost effective insurance to significantly improve the safety of all diver operations.
The DARS system consists of an underwater acoustic pinger(s), which is attached to the diver or asset, like a ROV or side-scan sonar, during search operations. The pinger is water-activated and sends an acoustic signal through the water that can be tracked and quickly located by a diver held pinger receiver. To track and locate these pingers quickly the DARS system includes a state-of-the-art directional pinger receiver, the DPR-275, that is diver operated and easy to use. Using both audio and visual indication, a standby-diver can locate a lost diver or asset with a pinger attached within minutes in the poorest diving conditions with very little training.
Both the DARS-3 and DARS-7 recovery systems provide a public safety dive team with a cost effective means of protecting their most important assets, the PSD.
