World’s largest Saab Seaeye Falcon Fleet

Saab Seaeye Flacon selected for the largest aquacultural fleet in the world

Saab Seaeye is the world leader in electric underwater robotics and has the largest range of electric robotic vehicles in the industry, operating across industrial, defence and scientific sectors. The Saab Seaeye Falcon ROV is the most successful underwater electric robotic system of its class and is proven in numerous intricate and demanding missions across many commercial, security and scientific sectors. A key feature of the Falcon capability is the wide range of options, tooling and accessories developed over many years for demanding customer applications. It is widely used by marine scientists for research and by innovators as a development platform.

Underwater Contracting (UCO) is currently the owner of the world’s largest fleet of Saab Seaeye Falcons and has expanded its fleet to 27 vehicles, which will provide a range of services in Europe, North America and Australia. The Falcon ROV has a winning design for aquaculture through its five power thrusters and Saab Seaeye’s iCON™ intelligent control architecture, it is capable of precise manoeuvrability during operations amongst large and deep nets and in strong currents. The design also allows the Falcon to use a wide range of equipment for many tasks such as a manipulator arm, which increases the system’s strength and reach during operations.

The Seaeye Falcon technology was ground-breaking when introduced to the observation and inspection market in 2002 and since then the entire Seaeye range has been continually upgraded and improved, particularly because of the flow through of Saab ROV technology from Defence applications. BlueZone Group have delivered and serviced many Saab Seaeye Falcon systems including ROV instrumentation, Tether Management System, Launch and Recovery System and control cabin for Australian customers in Aquaculture and Science.
