Wave Glider Fleet Expands

The Wave Glider fleet operated by the Maritime Signature Management & Target Services SPO in support of the Royal Australian Navy is set to expand with the addition of two new Wave Gliders manufactured by Liquid Robotics of Sunnyvale, California.

UVS will supply the new Wave Gliders complete with locally developed ancillary equipment including the WG01 Wave Glider Recovery Device, WG02 Wave Glider Transport Case and WG04 Rapid Access Drybox.

Project Manager for Wave Glide support, Jen Benson, said that it was very pleasing to see the Wave Glider fleet grow. “The versatility and adaptability of the Wave Glider concept has led to a number of exciting applications for the Wave Glider in Australia”, said Jen, “UVS looks forward to continuing to work closely with the Maritime Signature Management & Target Services SPO to develop new concepts and support innovative operations for the RAN”.
Wave Glider Fleet Expands
The Wave Glider sub unit can be used to tow hydrophones and other devices making it ideal for ubiquitous, persistent and silent ocean sensing.
