Teledyne and BlueZone Continue Close Connection at AOG
Teledyne Marine President, Mike Read, has lead a delegation of experienced Teledyne staff for a combined exhibition and demonstration of Teledyne Marine equipment at Australian Oil & Gas in Perth, Western Australia.
At AOG in 2017 BlueZone (previously UVS) and Teledyne Marine have continued development of an existing close connection. BlueZone has represented Teledyne companies in Australia since the 1980s, originally collaborating with Teledyne RDI to introduce ground-breaking Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) technology for applications in Australia’s deep oceans, coastal seas and rivers. “Original forecasts for ADCP technology sales in Australia where in the tens and twenties per year,” said BlueZone Chief Technology Officer Darren Burrowes, “Since introduction of ADCPs to Australia we have now seen the use of hundreds of ADCPs for many applications and we have been very pleased to work with Teledyne and the user community to push the boundary of what can be achieved with ADCP technology.”
In the past ten years Teledyne has acquired over twenty high-tech marine instrument companies to form Teledyne Marine. BlueZone Director, Neil Hodges, said that BlueZone was excited to work closely with Teledyne Marine to introduce the broad portfolio of products to customers in Australia. “The Teledyne Marine product offering is unparalleled and combined with the Teledyne commitment to ongoing development and innovation BlueZone is able to offer our customers in Australia leading edge equipment and systems to meet the challenges of working in the rivers, coastal seas and oceans,” said Neil.
At AOG Teledyne Marine and BlueZone have progressed several initiatives to deepen collaboration and offer improved services to customers in Australia. In-principal agreement for local support of Teledyne ODI products has been discussed and proposals for UVS supply of Teledyne DGO products for the SEA1000 Future Submarine Project have been presented to DCNS, the SEA1000 submarine design authority.
