RS-ORCA TRAC Software

RS-ORCA TRAC Software is freely supplied with the broadband RS-ORCA Underwater Acoustic Recorder.
TRAC software supports configuration in real time wirelessly or via Ethernet and can be carried out while the RS-ORCA is deployed. TRAC allows the local recording of the RS-ORCA’s raw and processed noise data. TRAC displays real time spectrograms in real units, time series plots and plays live underwater audio. This data can be saved locally.
RS-ORCA Underwater Acoustic Recorder applications include:
– Noise monitoring during offshore construction and seismic surveys
– Marine mammal monitoring in real time
– Long term autonomous PAM deployments
– Capturing soundscapes in real time e.g. Sound Pressure Levels and Sound Exposure Levels (SEL) with marine mammal detection
– Directional noise analysis
-Security and alarm systems e.g. illegal and dynamite fishing detection

The attached conference paper details how the 5 channels on the ORCA were used to directionally locate whale vocalisations in the Bay of Fundy.
