Clever Buoy Goes West

BlueZone Group has supported Shark Mitigation Service in deployment of two “Clever Buoy” systems in Western Australia. Clever Buoy is an innovative device for detection of sharks at beaches and the first breakthrough innovation in shark detection technology in over 60 years.

BlueZone technical teams were deployed from Newcastle and Perth offices to complete the integration, test and set-to-work of the Clever Buoy systems in Perth. The Clever Buoy system includes satellite communication, solar Photo Voltaic panels and battery management system, Vemco tag detector and Tritech sonar.

Tritech sonars used for this deployment were treated with ClearSignal coating for permanent biofouling protection. The system will operating between the groynes at City Beach for an initial trial period that will run up until to the 31st March 2017.

Clever Buoy Goes West
In January 2017 the first Clever Buoy full-beach shark detection system was deployed in collaboration with Shark Mitigation Systems at City Beach in Perth, Western Australia. The system utilises Tritech’s Gemini 720is sonars and SharkTec software.
