2022 Hunter Student STEM Expo – Explore your Future

2022 Hunter Student STEM Expo

BlueZone Group attended the 2022 Hunter Student STEM Expo on the 17th of October. The intent of the event was to solidify Years 9 – 12 student subject selection in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths. The expo was designed to specifically highlight the industry’s growth and the required workforce that will be needed in the Hunter Region.

BlueZone’s engineer Tyson Mann, Logistics Coordinator Andrew Roth, and apprentice Callum Bakker attended the expo, along with other exhibitors including Engineers Australia, the University of Newcastle, and Australia UAV services. On average for the 293 students that attended, employment opportunities and education information were among the most popular interests. The expo predominantly consisted of Year 12 students looking for advice about university degrees and what opportunities will be available.

Several students were interested in the opportunities that BlueZone has to offer and the industry we represent. Seven Year 12 students had researched BlueZone prior to the expo and came to talk to BlueZone specifically. Our team was able to provide a range of knowledge from different experiences, through Tyson’s engineering background, Callum’s experiences with TAFE, and Andrew’s knowledge about BlueZone Group. This was the first year that BlueZone had attended the Hunter Student STEM Expo and received extremely positive feedback from the students and teachers. BlueZone is looking forward to being part of future Expos to encourage students to study in the STEM workforce.
