The Ousel Board is proven to save time in the field, simplify the setup process, as well as ensure the safety of the field hydrologists when collecting data.
Assembling a tagline across a stream or river to tether your float and collect measurements can be a challenge for even the most advanced field hydrologist. Currently the hydrologist has to wade, swim, heave the line or paddle in a boat across the river or stream to get the line to the other side. Depending on the water flow and the conditions, this could be a challenging and dangerous situation.
The innovative Ousel Board was designed to simply use the natural flow of the river to cross from one river bank to the other.

Using the Ousel Board is simple … the hydrologist releases the Ousel Board attached to a line into the water |

The Ousel Board instinctively floats across the river to the opposite bank. The unique design of the Ousel Board can withstand both high and low flow conditions |

The hydrologist on the opposite bank easily grabs the board when it nears and secures the line |

The Ousel Board is out of the water and the line is across the river |

The float with ADCP is then tethered onto the line to begin collecting measurements |
