The Tether Storage Container is constructed from Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) and stainless steel fittings suitable for use in a marine environment. A specially designed fixing plate is provided on the base of the container to enable secure retention of the container on deck using standard fittings. The container is shaped to accept the spare tether complete with termination wheel and provides protective storage for all tether components.
The Tether Storage Container provides waterproof storage for the tether and protects fibre optic and electrical components from physical damage and degradation due to weather exposure. Locations for desiccant, humidity indication and documentation associated with the tether are provided.
Movement of the Tether Storage Container can be by crane, forklift or manual handling. A tether stored in the Tether Storage Container at the workshop, transported to and stored on a ship is guaranteed to be in a serviceable condition when required for use.
