The OEVU Mk 2 is mounted in the vehicle using the same mounting arrangement as the original OEVU. Existing wiring can be connected with only minor modifications required. The OESU Mk 2 is mounted in the Console Electronics Unit and is form/fit/function compatible with the original OESU.
The OEVU/OESU Mk 2 system provides 3 video channels, 1 x RS232 channel and 1 x RS422 channel for the Double Eagle Mk II applications. Spare data and video channels are available for later upgrades and modifications.
Design and construction of the OEVU Mk 2 and OESU Mk 2 uses stainless steel, anodised aluminium and engineering plastics which are suitable for use in a marine environment. Particular care has been taken to improve the water resistance of the OEVU Mk 2 to prevent malfunction due to splashes of water when the vehicle penetrator is opened. The OEVU Mk 2 and OESU Mk 2 meet the requirements for MIL-S-901D shock qualification by extension.
