SeaBat T51-S

New Standards in High Resolution Subsea Mapping

The SeaBat T51-S, is the latest release in the SeaBat T series. Building on the design of the revolutionary SeaBat T51-R, with elevated seabed mapping accuracy and resolution at new depths. The ‘S’, in T51-S, standing for subsea, highlights the upgraded 6000m depth rating. Housed in a pressure-rated casing, the SeaBat T51-S provides greater adaptability for underwater deployments beyond traditional vessel-based operations. Like other SeaBat multibeam systems, the T51-S expands the portfolio’s capability to extreme depths, ensuring suitability for challenging subsea applications.

Key Features of the SeaBatT51-S:

  • Expanded Swath Width: The T51-S presents an innovative 170° swath width at 800kHz, offering increased operational efficiency and reduced time required to conduct a survey. It also includes a 350-430kHz lower frequency range – intended for surveys where extended range performance is required.
  • Advanced Resolution: With a narrow receiver bandwidth of 0.25°, the T51-S can accurately resolve objects, such as rocks, and cables, as small as 0.3m. Providing enhanced resolution and detailed underwater mapping and inspection.
  • Data Quality: Equipped with a high-level subsea sonar processor, the T51-S is capable of extended storage capacity and increased beamforming processing. This ensures data collected is clean with minimal false detections. Reducing the time required for post-processing and manual correction.
  • Ultimate Automation: Integrated tracker technology automatically adjusts sonar settings in real time, maximising operation.
