Subs in Schools Success – Coast-to-Coast

BlueZone is pleased to congratulate our Subs in Schools sponsored teams for outstanding results in the Australian National Finals in Adelaide – a second place for Team Nova (St Philip’s Christian College, Newcastle NSW) and third place for Team Orca (Newton Moore Senior High School, Bunbury WA)!

The competition was fierce with many teams in the Submarine Class having mechanical problems with their submarines. Team Nova was forced to replace some defective RF components and tidy-up some play in their control plane throws to prepare for the demonstration. Thanks also to the mentoring from the BlueZone engineering team (Curtis, Ash & Daniel), the Team Nova sub was able to successfully navigate the courses. Team Nova received the Outstanding Industry Collaboration Award, as well as the Best Sea Trial Award.

BlueZone is very pleased to be able to continue to support the Subs in Schools initiative. Preparing students of the future for a career in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) is incredibly important for the future wealth and productivity of our nation. We live in an age of technology and many future jobs will result from an understanding and knowledge of technology-driven opportunities. At BlueZone we offer exciting careers from coast-to-coast in maritime robotics and unmanned systems for applications including Defence, Offshore Oil & Gas and Oceanographic Science.
