Double Eagle Maintenance Training
Double Eagle Maintenance Training
ATSA Defence Services, a BlueZone Group company, supports the Double Eagle Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) fleet operated by the Royal Australian Navy from specialised workshops in Newcastle, NSW. The Double Eagle systems is the primary weapons system for the Minehunter Coastal ships and it’s ongoing support and efficient maintenance is key to Navy capability for Minewarfare operations.
In late 2015 Double Eagle Maintenance Training was conducted for new staff. ATSA was also pleased to host two representatives from Thales Australia who manage the complete In Service Support for the RAN fleet of six Minehunter Coastal Ships. The maintenance training was delivered as a mix of classroom theory sessions and “hands-on” practical workshop sessions delivered by the ATSA engineering and technical service teams.
BlueZone Group CEO, Neil Hodges, said that ATSA was proud to have supported the Double Eagle for over 15 years and looked forward to continuing opportunities to support the system. “As a Defence SME we are very conscious that our contribution to support of the Double Eagle directly supports Navy capability”, said Neil, “ATSA has been a Saab Seaeye service partner since 2000 and we are working with Saab and Thales to ensure the ongoing capability of the Double Eagle System for Navy”.
