The UVS office in Perth took advantage of their location near to Lake Coogee, south of Perth for a demonstration of the Teledyne OceanScience Z-Boat for a number of interested customers.

The demonstrator boat operated by UVS is proving to be a real hit, enabling potential users to see the power and versatility of the boat for themselves. The high-speed version of the boat provides plenty of power and good sea keeping meaning that survey tasks can be completed on large areas of water in rapid time and in most weather conditions. The UVS Z-Boat demonstrator is “fully optioned” so that it can be easily reconfigured to demonstrate different payloads for different applications. Equipment that can be easily added includes:

• Teledyne Odom CV100 Single Beam Echo Sounder
• RiverRay or RiverPro ADCP
• Tritech Side Scan Sonar
• BlueView Imaging sonar
• Autonomous Control

Current plans are to have the demonstrator “back east” in late 2015 and the C100 Echo Sounder integrated for demonstration of hydrographic survey capability. Please contact General Manager Oceanographic & Hydrographic, Mark Hegarty, if you would like to organise a survey demonstration.
