SeaBat® T50 for Port of Melbourne

SeaBat® T50 for Port of Melbourne

BlueZone Group is pleased to announce an order for the supply of a Teledyne Reson T50 Multi-Beam Echo Sounder to the Port of Melbourne – the largest port for containerised and general cargo in Australia.

The Port of Melbourne was operating a SeaBat 7125 which had reached end-of-life and needed to source a new sonar to support ongoing work in the port including dredging campaigns. With the data format output from the SeaBat T50 being identical to that of the SeaBat 7125 – but with improved data quality – the SeaBat T50 was a natural candidate. Installation of the new SeaBat T50 was made simple by the provision of an adaptor kit enabling mounting the new EM7218 receiver in the existing sea chest. The EM7216 to EM7218 adaptor kit is specifically designed to ensure the correct location of the EM7218 receiver in an EM7216 sea chest.

BlueZone will also be able to provide ClearSignal® coating for the SeaBat T50 – an anti-fouling coating that is designed for the life of the instrument.

Feedback from many users of the SeaBat T50 is extremely positive with product development and a continued project-in-progress. Many recognise the SeaBat T50 as the best performing shallow water multibeam sonar available.
