OceanTools Latest DCV Control Systems

Deep Ocean Display Unit for data or covert diver delivery vehicles

OceanTools, a global leader in subsea engineering, has delivered two bespoke underwater control systems to enhance dry-running protection for hydraulic pumping systems. These solutions were developed for a client specializing in industrial pump technology, providing critical safeguards for their operations.

Each system includes a depth-rated anodised aluminium control pod, custom electronics, and a temperature probe. The system monitors pump stator temperature, generating real-time signals to automatically control a hydraulic directional valve, preventing damage from overheating or dry-running.

A key feature of these systems is the OceanDISP-7K, a robust, light-activated deep-ocean display unit. With its high-visibility LED matrix and rugged acetal housing, the OceanDISP-7K is depth-rated to 7,000 meters. Its versatility allows it to display data from a variety of sensors, including tilt sensors, gyrocompasses, pressure, temperature, and flow sensors. The unit can scroll or sequence data, or act as a serial terminal display. It also supports analogue inputs and offers extended battery life through TTL control and programmable light sensor activation.

The complete package from OceanTools includes underwater cable assemblies and a transit case.
