Quality Products for Water Resources
BlueZone UVS was pleased to participate in the Australian Hydrographers Association 2016 Conference and Exhibition (AHA 2016) at Canberra responding to the theme: Better Management of Water Resources: Technology, Techniques and Applications.
General Manager Water Resources, Andrew Hazell, represented BlueZone UVS at the Exhibition together with Hening Huang, Asia Pacific Manager & Principal Hydraulic Engineer for Teledyne RDI. Dr. Huang is an expert in hydrography, holding a Ph.D. in Environmental Hydraulics from UC Santa Barbara along with over 25 years of experience in the industry.
Andrew Hazell said that the issue of new technology for Water Resources was a key interest and that BlueZone UVS could demonstrate a track record for introduction and support of new technologies for better management of water resources. “UVS introduced revolutionary Teledyne RDI ADCP technology to Australia and greatly increased the ease of gathering a larger collection of data,” said Andrew, “This was a remarkable leap forward compared to spending numerous days on a boat collecting minimal data with the old style current meters.”
UVS continues to innovate in the Water Resources field having developed the DL25 Extended Memory And Control Datalogger to enable long term data logging and remote control of Teledyne RDI Channel Master ADCPs. Other new technologies include the Teledyne RDI 1200 kHz RiverPro intelligent river discharge measurement system which is most suitable for Australian river applications with a 0.2 to 20m profiling range.
“The introduction of the Teledyne OceanScience Q-Boat for ADCP deployment in rivers has created opportunities for new techniques for river measurement,” said Andrew, “Gathering river data can now be done safely from the river bank with no need to enter the water and with many options for flow measurement locations”.
