BlueZone’s General Manager Oceanographic and Hydrographic, Mark Hegarty, attended GeoHab 2014 in Lorne, Victoria, along with Thomas Meurling the VP Sales Solution Concepts & Asia Pacific for Teledyne. GeoHab (Marine Geological and Biological Habitat Mapping), is an international association of marine scientists study biophysical (i.e. geologic & oceanographic) indicators of benthis habitats and ecosystems as proxies for biological communities and species diversity.

GeoHab 2014 was hosted by Deakin University and GeoSciences Australia. Over 160 participants from 19 countries went to beautiful Lorne (a seaside town in the Surf Coast Shire in Victoria, Australia) to take part in the GeoHab 2014.

Mark Hegarty said that it was interesting to note that the three major manufacturers of Multi Beam Echo Sounders (MBES) were present at the conference exhibition together with most suppliers of the hydrographic software packages. “MBES and hydrographic software is a great match for the requirements of studying marine benthic habitats and ecosystems”, said Mark. “BlueZone can provide an excellent solution for this application with the Teledyne RESON SeaBat T20-P (Portable). The SeaBat T20-P is designed from the ground up to meet the needs of the most demanding environments, with portability and robustness built in”.

Mark said that BlueZone offers training in Hyrodgraphic Survey products including Single Bean Echo Sounders, Multi Beam Echo Sounders and Hydrographic Survey Software. More information can be found on the BlueZone website.

BlueZone also represents other Teledyne companies, and can provide information and quotation for Teledyne RD Instruments, Benthos, BlueView, Impulse and Odom products.
