Next-gen mine countermeasure capability, with Gavin Henry and Peter Newnham from Thales, and Neil Hodges from BlueZone Group
BlueZone Group’s Neil Hodges, and Thales Australia’s Gavin Henry and Peter Newnham spoke with Defence Connect about our proposal for the Royal Australian Navy’s SEA 1905 Tranche 1 – Maritime Mine Countermeasures (MCM) Survey program. BlueZone is pleased to be a partner in the Thales’ bid for SEA 1905 Tranche 1. Thales’ sovereign MCM offering will be enhanced and supported by BlueZone’s experience and capability in support of maritime robotics and military survey systems for more than 20 years.
The emergence of Robotics and Autonomous Systems (RAS) capability is a key enabler for the MCM Survey program and sovereign sustainment of these systems will be enabled by the existing BlueZone capability which supports multiple Uncrewed Maritime Systems operated by the ADF. The importance of interoperability with international partners, and leveraging common supply chains is also a key consideration for the Thales SEA 1905 Tranche 1 proposal.
Some of the topics discusses are:
